Il miele italiano va in crisi, registrando la peggiore annata degli ultimi 10 anni. Lo conferma la sezione bolognese del Cra-Api, l’ente di riferimento italiano per la ricerca in apicoltura e bachicoltura: ‘E’ stato un annus horribilis soprattutto per l’andamento climatico, alcune produzioni sono state cancellate.’
Le difficoltà riscontrate nel resto del settore agricolo si sono infatti ripercosse anche sull’apicoltura e sulla produzione del miele, perché i trattamenti usati in agricoltura hanno provocato la moria delle api. La paura è che gli apicoltori per garantire comunque la produzione si affidino a ‘mercati paralleli, magari poco o per niente controllati’.
Le perdite maggiori si registrano sul raccolto del miele di acacia dove, a fianco a produzioni quasi nulle, si riscontrano valori pari a 5 kg di miele per alveare. Per avere un’idea di questa ‘crisi del miele’, basta pensare che in periodi di abbondanza si producono fino a 40/45 kg di miele di acacia per alveare.
In primavera, le prime fioriture del ‘millefiori’ sono state scarse al Nord e al Sud Italia il raccolto di miele di zagara (agrumi) ha sfiorato i 20 kg di miele, mentre le aspettative erano di 30-40 kg di miele per alveare.
L’altro miele tipicamente italiano, il castagno, continua a registrare perdite di produzione a causa sia del cinipide (la cosiddetta ‘vespa cinese’), nonostante l’intensa lotta biologica a questo insetto che attacca i castagni, a causa di piogge e temperature. Per il castagno si stimano 8/10 kg di raccolto medio per alveare.
Un raccolto positivo si registra invece per il miele di Sulla, conosciuta anche come ‘Lupinella selvatica’. Questo è un miele tipicamente italiano, infatti l’Italia è l’unico paese mediterraneo della Ue dove la Sulla viene coltivata su superfici significative.
